Union vs Harvard (Per.1)

The opening frame of tonight’s ECAC clash of titans was a physical & fast paced affair. The Dutchmen came out swinging and had some early pressure on Harvard goalie Merrick Madsen. After withstanding Union’s opening assault the Crimson had pressure of their own. It paid off for Ryan Donato when his forechecking forced Union defenseman Jeff Taylor to carry the puck in front of goalie Jake Kupsky. Donato’s stick work whacked the puck off of Taylor’s stick past an unsuspecting Kupsky. At 3:02 Harvard drew first blood. Harvard would have a majority of the offensive chances but Kupsky was up to it. Each team was 0-1 on the PP, with Union killing off a 2 minute 5 on 3. Harvard outshot Union 8-7.
